The list of Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) enemies is growing and growing. Now, she sprung into action in her revenge plot against Sonny (Maurice Benard) for kicking her to the curb and out of his penthouse, and threatening to take their daughter, Avery away from her.
On the Monday, July 1st episode of General Hospital, After Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) quits her job with Nina (Cynthia Watros) at The Invader to go back to practicing law, Nina on the rebound promotes Adrien, to the editor-in-chief position. Next, Adrien is summoned to Ava’s hotel room. She has a recording she wants to leak to him with the the promise he will keep her name out of the press as the source.
The said recording has Natalia (Eva LaRue) making anti-gay remarks illustrating her conservative values, while outing her daughter and her relationship with Kristina (Kate Mansi). Ava tells Adrien that Natalia is the mother of burgeoning pop star, Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez). Then, Ava calls Natalia controlling, manipulative, and very politically incorrect.

Ava tells Adrien he can use the audio as he sees fit. Adrian gets all excited at the prospect of printing this controversial buzzworthy story now that Blaze is the face of Deception, which prides itself on being environmentally friendly and socially aware. He gloats that now that Alexis is out at The Invader, he has free rein to call the shots.
After delivering that bombshell, next stop for Ava is to confront Sonny at the Metro Court pool. Sonny is there with their daughter, Avery. When Sonny sees Ava, he is very dismissive of her. Ava tells him not to forget just who she is, and what she is capable of, and how she’ll do everything in her power to make sure Avery stays in her custody.
The end of the episodes finds Maxie (Kirsten Storms) leading a meeting for Deception with Blaze, Natalia, Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Lois (Rena Sofer) present. Maxie’s phone keeps blowing up with messages, She finally looks down and see the article on Natalia, which includes the damaging audio file. The article says, “In the recording, Ms. Ramirez outs her daughter as gay by naming Blaze’s girlfriend Kristina Corinthos-Davis. Furthermore, Ms. Ramirez appears to disparage Ms. Corinthos-Davis as well as the LGBTQIA+ community more broadly.” Maxie is stunned as everyone looks around not knowing that they are about to be blindsided from Ava giving the recording to Adrien and Natalia’s disparaging remarks.
What do you think of Ava’s actions? What do you think about Natalia’s anti-gay sentiments? Will Blaze be out as the face of deception? Will the stress of the situation cause issues for Kristina’s pregnancy? Will Sonny go after Ava for her latest deceitful move? Comment below.

This entire storyline is ridiculous. Ava is jealous of Natalia, thinking she “stole” Sonny from her… even though Sonny hasn’t had any interest in Ava since the crypt hookup. Sonny only threw Ava out of the penthouse because of what Ava did to Alexis. Ironically, Sonny is still unaware of what Ava’s done to him, knowing for months that his meds were tampered with, but not telling him about it.
Meanwhile Ava leaks this recording to the gossip columnist.. and this guy – who seems like a complete carbon copy of Leo Stark’s “Lady Whistleblower” – thinks that outing a pop singer is a good journalistic choice? And the only reason he can even run the stupid story, is because he just got a promotion to editor of the dumb tabloid… because Alexis just got her law license back. Which again was Ava’s fault she ever had to work at the paper in the first place.
And not to let Nina off the hook here either, because she hired this idiot Leo wannabe.
Irony of the whole thing is that Natalia was starting to make a little progress getting over her hom*ophobia – with Sonny’s help. And actually commended Kristina for calling out Ava last week. That might all fall apart now, since the currently unstable Sonny isn’t likely to react well to Natalia’s comments being made public, and the “Deception” gang might have to cut ties with Blaze because of what her mama did.
And all of this happening around a very pregnant Kristina, who’s already stressing out enough over Molly & TJ being stressed out over themselves.
This whole thing has 666 degrees of trainwreck written all over it.

If you are talking about Leo Stark, I personally think Leo has more integrity than this jerk, and he’s cute. This guy’s got nothing going for him, nada, and it will only get worse, wish Sonny could get a hold of him.

Not a fan of Ava nor Natalia right now. Poor Blaze and Kristina. I was hoping Tracy would enter the room and pull the reigns on Lucy a little bit. Also it would be interesting to see Tracy lock horns with Natalia.

It looks like they are setting up for a murder mystery with Ava as the victim. After getting rid of Roger and Michael they had better not get rid of Maura. So far I do not like what the new writers have done.

Yeah they’ve certainly written some unexpected twists for Ava in a relatively short time. Her involvement in Alexis’ disbarment was a big surprise.

So proud of Maxi at the meeting, seemed like her old bossy self. What in the world is Brook Lynn mother doing at this meeting? I guess I missed something, a little of her goes a long way.

General Hospital said goodbye to Michael Easton last month after three distinct roles during his time with the ABC soap opera. Easton portrayed John McBain, Silas Clay and most recently Hamilton Finn.
Michael’s final scenes were tearjerkers when Finn headed to rehab and had to say goodbye to his young daughter, Violet (Jophielle Love) and his brother, Chase (Josh Swickard). All of this on the heels of Finn losing his father, Gregory, who succumbed to complications from ALS.
Daytime fans were a bit blindsided when Easton’s departure was announced in the media. First, Michael broke the news himself that he was done at GH and had filmed his final scenes, and then fans learned that his exit on-screen was actually the following day on June 27h. While there had been rumors that Michael was being let-go, nothing was truly confirmed until it all sort of played out in real-time.

Easton started his soap opera career as Tanner Scofield on Days of our Lives, then landed on Port Charles as Stephen Clay/Caleb Morley. Next, he arrived in Llanview an One Life to Live as John McBain, a role he stayed with till the show wrapped after being canceled.

After that, his next stop was GH and brining McBain over to the show, before the ABC/Prospect Park dispute led to shelving that character and creating a new one for him to play. The new character was Dr. Silas Clay, but he was murdered after two years, and then Easton returned one last time as Dr Hamilton Finn until the summer.
Speaking with Soap Hub, on what kind of role or where he might like to go next with his career, Michael shared, “I mean, I’m not done. I’ll be trying to find that right part, that next great storyline…I don’t know where that will come from.”
This begs the question, where would you like to see Easton turn up next? On DAYS reprising Tanner Scofield? To Y&R as a new doctor, corporate raider, or cop? How about The Bold and the Beautiful …. could they find a fit for Michael on their half-hour show? How would you feel if Michael landed on a primetime show? If so, what do you think would be a great place for him to be a part of the cast? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

On General Hospital, Jacqueline Grace Lopez (Blaze) plays a recording artist attempting to have a successful musical career, while in the character’s personal life, she is involved in a same-sex relationship with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi).
In the storyline, Blaze’s conservative valued mother, Natalia (Eva LaRue) arrived in Port Charles disapproving of her daughter’s lifestyle. However, Blaze is stuck because her mother is also managing her singing career. In recent episodes, a tape recording of Natalia speaking to Ava (Maura West) disapproving of her daughter’s relationship with Kristina surfaced and has outed the women publicly.
Now in real life, Lopez shared via Instagram this week, a very touching video on how representation matters when her face appeared in the opening title sequence of the main character on General Hospital. Lopez was watching the opening credits with her parents. When speaking on representation, Jacqueline explained it is about never thinking as Filipino Latina, she would ever see someone like herself reflected back to her in TV or film.
Photo: ABC
With the video, Lopez provided her own voice-over sharing, “Growing up in the nineties, I was this little Filipino Latina with big buck teeth and glasses. Since the third grade, I think I got contacts maybe in junior high. I never really saw myself represented in anything. And now older, I really see how that contributed to my feeling invisible.”
Photo: ABC
Knowing that being seen in the GH opening credits was bigger than just her, Lopez expressed, “So to get this moment to realize that there might be some kid home from school, or someone who sees someone that looks like them, if that can help them dream big, I know that would’ve helped me, and that means everything.”
In her words accompanied the Instagram post, Lopez added, “Only older, do I truly see and feel how #representationmatters 🥰 Grateful for this moment for so many reasons. Thank you General Hospital.”
What did you think about Jacqueline’s post on diversity, culture and ethnicities being reflected on General Hospital and on television? Are you enjoying the Blaze and Kristina storyline? Comment below.

When Michael Easton exited General Hospital as Hamilton Finn, he left viewers in a puddle of tears, not only for his goodbye scenes with Jophielle Love (Violet), but also Josh Swickard (Chase).
Throughout his run on GH, Michael had shared the screen with several leading ladies and co-stars. As he reflects on his time on the ABC soap opera, Easton took to his Instagram to share his sentiments on three key women who were part of his journey: Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) and Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), along with video clips of three different scenes featuring each actress.
On Finola, Michael expressed, “THANK YOU FINOLA. I’ve always felt that if you’re ever fortunate to be recognized for a performance the true credit goes to the actor you’re sharing the scene with. I’ve benefited from working with some of the best but over the past nine years three actors got stuck working with me more than all others and I would like to thank Rebecca, Becky and Finola for putting up with me. I am a better actor and person for the time I spent sharing the stage with each of you and I am forever grateful. Finola Hughes is truly iconic, but also an incredibly compassionate actor who is intensely present in every scene. I choose this clip because all Anna and Finn had done up to this point was some witty banter but this seemed like the moment that they stopped and truly saw each other and was the foundation upon which their relationship was built. Finola could teach a masterclass on how to carry yourself on and off the stage.”

On Rebecca Budig, Easton shared, “THANK YOU REBECCA. Rebecca Budig is an amazing actor with deep soulful eyes that you can get lost in. This was the goodbye scene between Finn and Hayden and Rebecca’s ability to show her pain and vulnerability in one moment and then shift her resolve and be able to walk away from everything is her life is so incredibly heartbreaking to watch. I am in awe of her talent and if you bother her enough she might release “About a Girl” and you’ll be blown away by her performance.”

And on Rebecca Herbst, the now former GH star, said, “THANK YOU BECKY. Becky is one of those incredibly rare actors that can tell entire stories in their eyes. I like this scene because without saying a word you know that she’s feeling something but we never know exactly what it is and we can’t look away from her. So much inner power beyond her beauty.”
